Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India has released its ratings for the past week (May 9th to 15th, 2020). These ratings are for the genre : All India (U+R) : 2+ Individuals. Reckitt Benckiser’s Dettol Toilet Soap claimed the top spot with 18,044 insertions. Lux Toilet Soap (17,524) and PolicyBazaar.com (15,215) secured the second and third spots respectively.

Meanwhile, Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) emerged as the top company with 1,34,396 ad insertions. It was followed by Reckitt Benckiser (88,308 insertions) and ITC (29,214 insertions). Further, Amul’s parent company GCMMF and Brooke Bond Lipton India Limited finished at fourth and fifth spots respectively.
With the Covid-19 outbreak in India this year, brands in the Hygiene Product Category have witnessed tremendous advertising overdrive in the last few months. Subsequently, Dettol Toilet Soaps has been a routine ranker in the top 10 list of most insertions. Last week, there was only one outlier among the Top 10 most advertised brands last week (mentioned in decreasing order below) –
